It is very difficult to manage inventory because when you buy two different price inventory it get mixed up and affect the price of overall products. Let take a example when you buy crude from two people and produce yourself then the crude that you produce lose its value.
So please make inventory of different prices to be separated like inventory of different quality is separated
Thanks 😊

I moved this thread to Player Ideas because it looks like a suggestion, not a request for a contract.
As for your suggestion, I'm not sure what the benefit is, as while you could theoretically lower the sourcing cost of outputs by blocking the expensive inputs, that won't affect your CV because your valuation allowance would go down (resources are valued at 85% of the average price on market and contracts, and valuation allowance is the difference between that value and your sourcing cost). If you don't care about CV (I've seen players say they don't in the chatrooms), then this suggestion would allow a lower sourcing cost in situations like your example, and you'd make more profit unless you were using all of the inputs, in which case it doesn't matter.

M8 you are also buying from Ex and given that you bought from 5 different prices, that would totally mess up warehouse, current method is good.

Not sure I understand the problem, unless it is similar to the one I mentioned in this thread, with how the default for production is to take the lowest quality level and not the cheapest quality level: simcompanies.proboards.com/thread/216/block-use-warehouseI think it would be an order of magnitude more complex to be selectively picking from the same quality level every possible price one may have purchased the input inventory at for a production run. Over the long run, I don't think that it would provide a material advantage.

We could also add some upgrade options to our warehouses. Currently they are unlimited in size and costs nothong. To add more realism, we would need to expand our warehouses as our business grows and also upkeep costs increases.

Lots of big companies, who have spare money avoids of accounting fees by buying different products to keep them in warehouse, because that does not cost anything and is unlimited in capacity. Actually that increases prices for certain materials as they are out of market and is used as investment to get rid of money. Demand is high, lots of materials into warehouses, prices goes up for remaining material in market.
We shoukd have upgradeable warehouses with limited volume per each level.
We could have warehouse business, that allows to store your own products in huge warehouses for some amount of money. Other players would build warehouses only, rent out space. Or play as wholesalers who buys in very huge quantities for good price and sell to others.
Also we could have Banks - players could deposit money to avoid accounting fees, but bank could use it to earn more money by buying bonds or lending it to others.
Or bank
