Government Orders (GOs) for Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses The Struggle Is Real - Trying to get into the Top-1000 is humbling (#1016 as of this post), so I can only imagine that the push for Top-500, -250, -100 is even more difficult. Given where I currently stand, it is almost as if I am in "No Mans Land" on a "walk-about", very lonely to say the lease (just like the real world). However, the real world is not perfect and simulated environments have the ability to implement a more "inclusive" feeling. Currently GOs can truly be pursued by "cash flushed" level-20+. Who, in-turn enlist/conscript the efforts of lower level players to fulfill orders (assuming they have not hoarded a vast amount of inventory prior to winning the contract). Proposal: - Define SMB level based upon Level and CV ([.e. (Lvl <= 25) and (CV > 20 mil), (Lvl <= 20) and (CV > 5 mil), (Lvl <= 15) and (CV > 1.5 mil) ]; SMB-3, -2, -1 respectively
- SMB-3: Badge + SMB-3 GOs
- SMB-2: Badge + SMB-2 GOs
- SMB-1: Badge + SMB-1 GOs
- SMB-3 GOs: Player MUST BE A PRODUCER with capacity to full 50% of GO (but MUST produce a minimum of 20% of the order)
- SMB-2 GOs: Player MUST BE A PRODUCER with capacity to full 75% of GO (but MUST produce a minimum of 30% of the order)
- SMB-1 GOs: Player MUST BE A PRODUCER with capacity to full 100% of GO (but MUST produce a minimum of 50% of the order)
- Capacity will be calculated by - (24-hour output of facility #1, lvl-x) + (24-hour output of facility #2, lvl-x) + (24-hour output of facility #3, lvl-x) + (24-hour output of facility #x, lvl-xn)
The rationale for considering this implementation are as follows: - Breath more excitement into the sim for mid-level players
- Enhance consistent daily usage in the mid- and lower-level players
- Lessen the "grip" top-level player have on the sim economy (let fiscal policy set the tone)

Hi, I'm at level 23 (just this week) and at rank 424.
Even at this level, it is not as you described - definitely not cash flushed.
But, that may just be me, with a large investment in inventory, so that as the economy turns, I can still manufacture and sell some specific products profitably, while my suppliers either cannot deliver at profitable prices - or, have migrated out of selling the product I need to more profitable ones for them (e.g. Aerospace I found mostly - I'm in Electronics).
That said, your suggestion has merit in that, in the real world, in the US (don't know about elsewhere), the federal and state level governments specifically favor SMB (and other categories - e.g. minority owned). What usually happens is that the large corporations team up with SMBs (often several) to meet the requirements.
Now, I am guessing that part of the intention for the Government Orders is to provide a "carrot" to incentivize players to continue to grow.
I also understand that Patrik and team want to encourage more player interaction with each other.
So, perhaps these GOs could be structured to require partnerships with smaller businesses - maybe even by tiers for each threshold level (e.g. sub-1000 players, sub-500 players, sub-250 players etc.) with bonus payouts based on the number partners from each tier (more bonus for more lower tier partners).

Don't mean to necro but didn't want to make a new post on the same topic. I think smaller GOs would be a fantastic idea.
I don't think you need several tiers or GOs only available to certain players. I think by adding a few smaller sized GOs (maybe 25-50% of the size now) in addition to the other weekly GOs, it would allow anyone level 20+ to compete. It's a free market system, if a top ranked player can bid lower than everyone else and think they can do the job profitiably then they should be allowed to win it as well.
The idea of a GO is to have competition, an end game goal with many players competing for the same job and outbidding each other. I am not sure what the profit is for a GO but I'm guessing it can be MASSIVE. This just further cements the top players at the top and the smaller companies struggling to get by.
By adding some smaller sized GOs you will greatly increase competition beyond the same 8-10 players bidding on each one every week. 6 bids for a GO is not competitive enough. What's to prevent them from all massively overbidding and the lowest bidder ends up with 10's of millions in profit? Lack of competition is the problem.
The GO concept is amazing! I'd love to see more companies be able to take part. Level 20+ is fine with me, but once you hit that mark, you should be able to compete on the smaller orders. Imagine having 30-40 bids for a GO? This increases competition and lowers profit margins. I just think it's a great idea and something I'd like to see added in as well.
Thanks!
