I realize E85 fuels are primarily used in the U.S., so it may not be something everyone is familiar with, but what if ethanol or an ethanol blend was added as a gas station retail option? The ethanol (100%) would be the most direct way to include this option, but the E85 blend would be more realistic.
Currently gas stations have only two options, diesel or petrol, and the sourcing/blend are identical for both of those products. With an ethanol blend (85% ethanol / 15% petrol) there would be a new avenue to pursue in the fuel sector. This would incentivize ethanol production as more of a primary source for an end product, would give petrol an additional use, and give gas station retailers a third option.
Just a thought.
