GOAL
Eliminate production delays caused by the absence of a player at the end of production.
IMPACT
mid-game, late-game
MECHANICS
Conveyors are installed in production buildings like robots.
As with robots, the higher the level of the building, the higher the quality of the conveyors.
With the conveyors installed, the building level cannot be changed, but it does not limit production to just one product.
Conveyors have two modes, export and import. The player chooses which mode they want to use during installation. Once installed, it is no longer possible to change the mode.
Export
The conveyors transport the manufactured products to the warehouse. The export interval is shorter than the interval of displaying the product icon on the building to pick up the finished part of the production.
This happens automatically.
Import
The player has a new AUTO button in the building. This is located next to the 24h and MAX buttons under products.
When AUTO button is used, "endless" production starts. Conveyors take inputs products from the warehouse for 1 hour of production. After 1 hour the import from the warehouse is repeated. If there are not enough products in the warehouse, automatic production cannot start or continue.
The player can stop production at any time. This has the same effect as stopping a manually entered production (return of half of wages and inputs products with quality 0).
Conveyors can only be installed in production buildings.
Supporters
Both modes are available to supporters at the same time.
Fearful impact
Combined with future contracts, the player won't have to play at all.
IMHO this is an unnecessary concern. There are only few buildings that have only output and whose products have no further processing (research).
If the player was a supporter and had both export and import, he would still have to deal with having sufficient stock in the warehouse. This means either buying a lot of stock at once or monitoring timely delivery through daily contracts.
Last but not least, it is important to remember that players do not play because they have to, but because they enjoy it. Even if a certain percentage of players reach a constellation where they don't have to deal with anything and just wait for profits, IMHO only a tiny fraction will take advantage of it.
