Current building upgrade process: 1. Have required building materials 2. Begin building process 3. Building upgrade completed 4. Repeat the process until you achieve the desired building level
BUT, what if the building upgrade is completed when I’m sleeping or AFK? What are we losing? We lose TIME! - Lost production time - Lost upgrade time
We know our intention is to upgrade a building from level 1 - 5 but if construction is completed during AFK time you lose valuable time.
My proposal: Have the ability to chose the building’s desired level and begin construction until desired level is achieved.
Example: I want to construct an Electronic Factory from level 1 to level 5. 1. I gather required building materials 2. Select desired building level - “Upgrade to level 5 - downtime “x” hours” 3. Begin construction 4. Construction completed from level 1-5
What do you think?

It is an interesting idea. However, I think that having that kind of automation might require a whole overhaul of automation- production queues, longterm contracts, etc

However, I think that having that kind of automation might require a whole overhaul of automation- production queues, longterm contracts, etc I don’t think it requires a whole overhaul of automation. Production queues won’t be affected because if the intention is to upgrade the building continuously production won’t matter since the construction is being prioritized. However, this function doesn’t need to replace the current process but it can add to it. For players who want to upgrade one at a time that is still an option. It’s for players who want to do it all at once. I don’t see how long-term contracts are going to be negatively affected by this. I actually see this as a win-win situation. The faster I can get a building up to a certain level to increase production the it’s all for the better If I’m a buyer and my supplier has chosen to upgrade for a certain amount of time I know that my supplier can supply me more after the upgrades.

The reason why I want the full automation package is because I think the logic would be ‘if this is automatic, then why isn’t this automatic’. I think it would be better to add all at once and that clears that unfinished feeling
