A Guide for Halloween and Autumn harvest Products
These products will be available to produce and sell throughout the year, but their retail demand Or production yield will only be high during the Autumn season, with gradual increase in beginning and peaking during October, and then gradual decrease. During off-season their demand Or productivity will go down so much that it will be not feasible to produce or retail these products. (Except for Pumpkin Soup...)

Halloween Market
Halloween market is the building for retailing halloween related products which are Pumpkins, Jack O'lantern and witch costume. Building has the same mechanics and works the same as any traditional retail building, like Fashion store or Grocery store etc. Since our virtual population of the sim world is so excited to celebrate this festive period, retail demand for these products is at extreme!! And demand will stay high for the duration of the season, after which the demand will go down, because no-one celebrates Halloween in Xmas season 😉
Every active player with company level 2 or above will receive a level one halloween market for free, for the duration of the season (till 10th November), on their map at the slot next to the headquarter. This slot is seperate from existing max available 18 slots. There used to be a residential building as shown in the image, developers had to fight a long legal battle to vacate the residents, but for no avail, finally HamsThor had to get involved and he charged the building wielding his hammer, emptying the building and the slot for Halloween market to be built on.
The Free Halloween market does not contribute to administrative overhead, building value or the company value, it cannot be repositioned, or upgraded. If you don't want this building on your map, you can scrap it and it will be replaced by new Plaza building!
Special thanks to Unexpected Company, a fellow player and moderator for designing these amazing looking Halloween market and Plaza buildings!
Free Halloween market can be built again after scraping if needed, it will be built instantly with no build time.
Players can build more Halloween market on their map as well, they will contribute to player stats just like a regular building, and they do not have any restriction on max level. While the Free Halloween market will go away at the end of the season, any Halloween market built manually by players on the map will stay, and players can still retail goods init but the demand will dry down off-season so you will not be able to make any money afterwards.
Like every other product, when you go to start a production cycle, the duration of the cycle, labour cost, and raw material used will be according to the amount you entered and your base production rate. With a warning saying the actual produced amount may vary… After you begin the cycle, you cannot see how much pumpkin the building is producing, partial pickups will not be available to keep the yield hidden till the end. And Only at the end of the cycle will you see how many pumpkins were actually produced, and it will vary from what you initially started for. Since the final yield is random, there is no way to know in advance how much pumpkin will actually end up producing.
With some rough maths we will find that this range is relative to your base production units, and it varies from ~3% of the base, to ~140% of the base. Meaning if you start production of 100 units, the actual yield can be anything between 3 and 140 units; while the labour cost, duration and raw material will be consumed as per your selected amount. While that's an extreme range of numbers, this range itself varies year round, during the months of Autumn harvest season the yield range will likely be on the higher side of the scale, above 100%. (While writing this article, at the end of September, the yield is mostly above 100%.) And during the off-season it will be on the lower side of the scale, producing less than the base production rate.
Jack O'lantern and Witch Costume are the same in terms of mechanics, and both of them will be retailed in the Halloween market. Both of these products can be produced yearlong, with a usual production rate. But their retail demand will only rise up during Autumn season and Halloween event, they can still be retailed off-season but with almost non existent demand they'll be unprofitable and largely useless during off-season.
This is the first event of this kind in the game, and there will be more upcoming in future, Xmas likely being next. I'd recommend everyone to follow Simcompanies times newspaper to stay updated on any upcoming events and major game developments.
The awaited new seasonal industry update is here!! And it has kick started with a new Halloween Event, which has brought some new products and a building to the game with it.
But what are seasonal industries and products? What is the Halloween event? What are these new products and building? How do they work and differ? Let's find out!!
Seasonal Products
The products whose productivity and retail demand highly depends on the time of the year and season is referred to as being seasonal. Their production Or demand goes up during special times of the year, that can be a harvest season or any events and festivals, while for the rest of the year they are unfeasible to produce or sell. These special times of the year will come in the form of events like Xmas, Halloween, and many more to come…
For example: Like the introduced Halloween event, where there is high demand for Halloween related products like Pumpkin, Jack o'lantern, and Witch costume during the Autumn season, but will have low demand for the rest of the year. Or imagine Mangos which can only be produced during Summer season, but has constant demand year along.
You can learn more about it in Future Development
More such events and products will be introduced in future, the key here will be to follow Simcompany Times Newspaper to get the information of upcoming events ahead of time, and even get a chance to give your suggestion of what should be next season/event and products, when Patrik asks for suggestions!
Halloween Event
Halloween is festive season for our virtual population of sim company, Simeons! They have stacked up alot of money, which they are willing to spend on these newly introduced products Pumpkin, Jack o'lantern, Witch Costume, and Pumpkin Soup. A new retail building Halloween Market is also introduced where you can sell these products to simeons. Event will last during the Autumn season, from 26th September to 10th November.
Pumpkin Soup
Pumpkin Soup is part of the Food industry. Produced in catering with a constant production rate like every other product. It will be used in Restaurant as a main course dish alongside Samosas, Salad, etc. Pumpkin soup itself is not a seasonal product, but its key ingredient Pumpkin is seasonal whose production will vary through the year, so it will create an interesting dynamic where Pumpkin prices will fluctuate up-down impacting production cost of Pumpkin soup.

Key points:
- Free Halloween market does contribute XP to company level.
- Free Halloween market is provided only for the period of 26th September to 10th November, after which it will be removed.
- Halloween markets built manually by players will stay year long, they will not be scrapped automatically, and players can retail products off-season just like usual retail buildings.
- PA's Sausage quest does not apply on Free Halloween market.
Pumpkin
Pumpkin is an Autumn harvest product; meaning its production will vary throughout the year, with its productivity rising during the Autumn season (September-November), with its peak production being in October, but gives good returns in September as well. It is a key ingredient in Pumpkin soup and Jack O'lantern.
Pumpkin is the first product in the game to have fluctuating production yield, not only does it vary year around but also throughout the day! Yes. The yield of this product is random! Two production cycles started at the same time may yield different amounts of pumpkins. And it is kept hidden till the end of the cycle, and you cannot pick up partial production from the building either. So how does it work?? Basic setup is as usual like the other products. It has a base production rate of 137.49 units per hour in normal economy; this number will vary depending on economy, your building level, and production bonus. You can see your base production amount in farm.
How much does the production yield vary? If you look at the pumpkin in encyclopaedia, in production calculator the production rate (Units an hour) is showing a range between two numbers:
The actual numbers on how much this will vary in different times of the year is not known. I did send my trusted executive to find those secret numbers at the Simcompany office… I lost contact with him, and he hasn't returned yet 😔
Since the consumption and labour costs will be according to your selected amount, but the actual produced amount will differ. The benefit here will be when the actual produced amount is more than your selected amount, then per unit costs will go down. And if building ends up producing less than expected amount, then per unit cost will rise, which will happen a lot during off-season so production cost will be very high in off-season time.
Key points here:
- Pumpkin will be available year around to produce, only its productivity will decrease off-season but will not be stopped.
- Partial pickup is unavailable, only at the end of the cycle you'll get all the finished pumpkins.
- If you cancel the production at anytime during the cycle, all of the raw materials you begun with will return, yielding no pumpkins.
Jack O'lantern and Witch costume
Jack O'lantern and Witch Costume are the same in terms of mechanics, and both of them will be retailed in the Halloween market. Both of these products can be produced yearlong, with a usual production rate. But their retail demand will only rise up during Autumn season and Halloween event, they can still be retailed off-season but with almost non existent demand they'll be unprofitable and largely useless during off-season.
Key points:
- Halloween event/season will last from 26th September to 10th November.
- Free Halloween Market will be taken off the map at the end of the season.
- Products and building introduced here will be available all year to produce and sell, only their production rate or/and retail demand is seasonal.
- Pumpkin Soup is not a seasonal product.
This is the first event of this kind in the game, and there will be more upcoming in future, Xmas likely being next. I'd recommend everyone to follow Simcompanies times newspaper to stay updated on any upcoming events and major game developments.
