"I believe it is this way because not everyone wants the sales offices or stores to collect automatically due to Accounting Overhead. Ok, now we are getting somewhere on the why - Accounting Overhead."
I'd say that for most players, that is not a problem.
With a company in the $40M CV range, I cannot remember if I ever had to pay that. My cash is tied up in either inventory or investing in upgrades, or research.
I suspect one has to be a very large company to generate that volume of sales for this to make a significant difference.
If that is what we want to address, then I suggest making it a configurable option (e.g. a toggle switch on that screen) that enables/disables auto-collection.
And, yes, one click collection for all buildings makes sense too from my perspective - but are there other types of consequences like the Accounting Overhead one for specific industries/businesses, such that maybe only some buildings and not others they'd want this for?
Still, one click still means one has to schedule their day around the game vs the game meet player's real life availability.
So maybe there would be three options for configuration, 1) auto collect; 2) one click collect; 3) collect by building click

Not to make new thread, will add here. Idea is the same but for production/ retail. One click refill stores. Enter price and volume in one retail store and checkbox to do that for all the same type and level stores. Same in factories.

I completely agree with you. Like others have said, where would the button be? I think they should do something where you click one resource and it gives you an option - collect all or collect this one. The same goes with production - produce all of that type of building or only this one
