Hi
I find Sim Companies very enjoyable! Thanks a lot! Being new to the game, I still have many questions, and there is especially one thing cannot understand: The developers constantly focus on fair play and competing on a level playing field. However, there seems to be one quest in the beginning of the game that permanently alters the sales speed bonus (+1).
It seems deeply unfair that an early mistake (i.e. solving an early quest incorrectly) should lead to a permanent disadvantage. I feel there should be opportunities later on in the game to correct this mistake, e.g. repeating the quest or a similar quest for me and all those other players who failed it the first time around. The permanent sales speed bonus might not amount to much, but remains vexing and might even be game breaking for a few players.
Thanks!
H.

There is another chance for those players that did not get that 1% speed bonus. When you reach level 23 you get another quest that triggers if you did NOT do the first one for the sponsorship of $5,000. The second opportunity costs; $150k to sponsor. So, keep your eyes peeled for this quest once your reach level 23.

Thanks, I will do that!
That 150K sponsorship quest does not help those who already passed level 23 though. Is there a similar permanent bonus for production? (I really hope there isn't!)

If you missed it at level 23 there are no more chances. Game gave you 2 chances.. that's it. You can switch the bonus in Account Settings. Note: It does costs simboosts and each switch costs more each time.

Thanks! I really appreciate your prompt and informative responses to my comments and questions in this thread!
I have no issue with temporary consequences of quests, but in this type of game I think it could be a mistake to let a quest permanently change sales speed bonus in this way. The game should be about the business simulation dynamics, not about second-guessing the correct responses to the PA's requests.

I never really thought of it this way, but yeah, I definitely think that a permanent change like this should not come out of a PA quest. Of course, I might be somewhat biased, because I didn't get the boost.

I found out about PA quest forum thread quite early in game. And that helped me to make best choices.

I found out about PA quest forum thread quite early in game. And that helped me to make best choices. I can see how that might be helpful, and I have no problem with the PA quests generally. I'm ok with monetary rewards and temporary boosts. But a permanent change to the sales bonus is, in my opinion, just too important to be handed out (almost) randomly in a PA quest!

Of course, I might be somewhat biased, because I didn't get the boost. I've got the impression that most of us didn't focus enough on the PA quests to get this boost. Fortunately for me, I get another chance at level 23. But I still feel this boost is an error which permanently affects the business simulation, and it would be easy to get rid of (e.g. by removing the boost and compensating the players with some money). Perhaps I shouldn't make such a fuss about this, but I absolutely (and unexpectedly) love the game - except for this PA quest boost .
