Eyeballing it, looks like the latest Recessionary duration doubles the Boom period started May of last year.

The graph of January 2020 to May 2020 is of a shorter time frame than the March 2019 to April 2020 graph. The OP has the all-time economy phases.

I thought there might be an all time one posted somewhere, but searched for economy, economics, and history, but didn't find it.

I thought there might be an all time one posted somewhere, but searched for economy, economics, and history, but didn't find it. This is what we got. As far as I know i'm the only one that posts these. I made these at the beginning of the year because we really didn't have a "history" of economic phases that were public. The top one (original post) is All time from the time auto phases started. I update that from time to time. It also has the stats for duration of the phases listed. The second and third comments have the dates listed above the charts.

Crap. Took "OP" to mean the Original Poster, not the Original Post (at the top), so was looking for some other thread by The Center, and had forgot it was actually here. Mea culpa. Yep, the scale for each date entry is different - 3 day snapshots in the most recent graphic vs 9 day snapshots in the OP. Since the first post also has a box of "weeks", rather took it that all the graphs were on the same scale - they are not. Just checked now, and the second post is on yet another scale... 10 day snapshots. Holy moley! Guess we have to really be on our toes to make an apples to apples comparison.

Somehow economic phases seems unbalanced. Most of the time we should be in normal phase. But we are mostly in recession, very rare in boom. Now we also can't get out of recession. Strange.

Almost half of the year is normal, remaining half is either boom or recession. As now it is recession few weeks in a row, that means we will have more boom later this year as recession weeks are being spent now. If everything is balanced.
